Find things that makes you happy
I’m not a very social person, I usually don’t enjoy going out or being among lots of people. So normally I wouldn’t expect to have such a great experience when I’m going to social events.
Have you heard of the places where you go to draw and drink wine? There is no need to be able to draw and you don’t go there to learn how to draw, you go to have a nice time, relax, drink some wine and be creative. Last week I went to such a place here in Sofia - DaliVino (if you’re looking for this kind of experience, I’m voting with both of my hands for going there, I loved it - the atmosphere, the place - it was perfect.) So for some time one of my friends wanted to organise us to go to event like this.
I want to stress how important it is for introverts like me to have a very extrovert friend who understands us perfectly. Who will help us find new things, get out of our comfort zone and make us find happiness somewhere we didn’t expect. But that’s a topic for a separate post altogethere. (so Adi if you’re reading this, just know how much I appreciate the fact that I have you in my life :* - i can’t say it more cheesy than that 😆)
So we did it, we went to draw this beautiful painting:
And I loved it sooooo much. It’s incredibly important to find activities that make us happy, that inspire us. I was drawing and It was so fun, for a couple of hours I forgot all my worries. I was just sitting there and had a nice evening full of creativity. And I really needed it. It was like taking a couple of hours off. And you won’t know how much you need that, until you try it. I felt reborn after that. And it could look really funny, that 3-4 hours would be magically healthy for someone. But let me tell you, if you’re feeling stressed and having everyday anxiety episodes, when the depression is something you’re fighting alone in your mind - taking a deep breath from that is so nice. It’s a must for your mental health.
That’s why you need to find activities that make you happy. Surround yourself with positivity in every possible way. It’s important to learn new things - yes, but finding things that don’t stress us out more is crucial for our quality of life. Our mind needs a break from work and from our compulsive thoughts. And we should definitely appreciate the needs of our mental health more. Our body and physical health aren’t the only things we should take care of. I know you probably come across people talking about that everyday and there is a reason for that. This is one of the most important steps we need to take in our lives - understand and appreciate ourselves. Take care of ourselves - this body and mind is something we will live with for the rest of our life. So love it, care for it, appreciate it every single moment! :)
P.S : Who dis?! Second post in one month :D ?!?!?!
